SEO Content Writing
“SEO Content writing is preparation of content targeted at search engines and towards specific search queries. While writing SEO friendly Content you don’t just start writing content . You first figure out the keyword , then look at the audience insight . Then prepare a content that is targeted towards that keyword.”
A fine example is this post . Before writing the content I did research about keywords related to content . I selected SEO Content Writing as my target keyword so my whole content is targeted to this keyword .
Why SEO Content Writing Is Important?
According to the experts, when a user searches for a keyword Google displays web pages in their search results based on the authority and relevance of the page to enhance the user experience.
How Does Google Measure Authority And Relevance?
Google determines the relevance of your page by analyzing its content based on several factors, including where and how often you use certain words in that piece of content.
Google measures authority by the number of links pointing to that page and how trustworthy those links are.
So even if you have great content but no links pointing to your website then you are likely to be pushed back on the search result . But that is a completely different topic. We are going to have a blog on that later . If you have a WordPress website you can check out WordPress SEO Tricks to rank your website.
Just know the following :
“Content Quality has become the #1 ranking factor in Google, especially since the Google Panda and Penguin updates.”

Identify Your Audience.
Yes before you even start your writing, understand your target audience for example : If you want to write a content about how to create an app login through Facebook. You are probably targeting the audience with the app who wants to learn how to do this . Well that’s pretty particular . Well you content should be like a guide on how to do that particular thing .
So understand what a user would want while they would be searching for your target keyword . Prepare the content keeping this point in your mind.
Do select the target audience with care because it could lead your blog or website to the unexpected results .
Understand The Niche Of Your Content
This may seem like an easy step , but my experience says many SEOs overlook this step when optimizing their content for SEO content writing. That is, they know that they want “more traffic” for their clients, but fail to dig deeper than that. Not to mention, marketers fail to identify the searcher intent when publishing their blog articles.
If you are doing SEO effectively, you know that organic traffic isn’t everything. Ultimately you want your clients to get a good return on investment (ROI), and that means money. So, the purpose of your article will usually go beyond just generating traffic.
Don’t confuse traffic with conversions or you’ll wind up out of a job.
Be specific with the niche of your content .
Select Your Primary Keyword
Choose your keyword with utmost care. Keyword Research is another important topic and I am going to write a detailed blog on Keyword Research for SEO Content writing .
Let’s talk in brief about the topic . There are few steps for keyword research
Find out which keywords and phrases people are searching for (as well as what you can be competitive in), and make yourself a keyword spreadsheet. Keep track of how many times you work the keywords into your content, and use the right tools to track where you rank for the keywords you target.
Best Tool to do your keyword Research is Google Keyword Planner Tool . Although it is free, you need to create a Google adword account for that . There are other tools paid and free that you can use for keyword research . Some of the tools are Semrush , Ahref , Ubersuggest , if you want bulk keyword ideas you can use keyword Shitter . But you would have to filter these ideas carefully .
Don’t Forget to add LSI keywords .LSI keywords are words and phrases with a high degree of correlation to your target topic. Google’s algorithm uses them to help determine content quality and relevance to the search term.
Collect The Data Relevant To Your Target Keyword
Now that you have a target keyword and a bunch of LSI keywords it’s time to research user intent . It’s very important by this you will understand what a user is searching for with the keyword . Now your content strategy has to be dependent on this research so read all the top content carefully and understand what they are writing about . So that when you write you cover more than they have .
Content Strategy
Now from the data you have collected make a list of points that you find relevant to the content you are preparing . Compare these with your content idea . Creating a plan is not an essential part for any SEO content writing, but it is a step that is very beneficial when it comes to getting organized and setting the intention of the content, not to mention how much it helps a content manager when working with various content writers.
Planning can take many forms. You may decide to write an outline of the content before you write it, create a document that includes your focus keywords, or simply create a calendar for your blog posts. All serve the purpose of making sure that your content is focused, concise, and fits into the framework of your existing site.
Having a content plan can be particularly helpful if you are writing a lot (say, for an entire website) and need to map out the keywords for each piece. You can also add details such as the page titles you are going to use, the meta descriptions, and internal linking. Having this data in front of you will help set you up for SEO success.
You should create a content map using all these strategies . Foolproof your final strategy . Then start drafting the content .
Keyword Placement
There is not any exact formula for keyword placement but here is the outline of points you should remember while placing Keywords on SEO Content.
-
Do not stuff your content with keywords . Keyword density should be 3% to 5%
-
Add Keywords In your Title , Meta Description & Subheadings
-
Use LSI Keywords as much as you and without stuffing
-
Your keyword placement should be uniform .
Use these four points and you are good to go .
Place Header Tags , Meta Tags & Alt Tags Carefully.
Use the proper hierarchy while placing the tags . your most important tag is the title H1 Tag. Its fonts should be superior to the rest of the tags . Use Keywords in the starting. SEO Content writing is mostly affected by the tag placement. Improper tags could push you a long way back. You can use your target keyword twice in the title if you use it smartly. Add keywords to other subheadings and Alt tags also.
Check & recheck the Content
Once you have completed the draft check the following points
-
Grammatical, Punctuation, Spelling & typo mistakes. You can use tools like Grammarly for this
-
Check if your content has plagiarism in it.
-
Check For the readability Index. Your content should be understandable by an 8th Grader.
-
Keyword Stuffing
-
Check for the tone of your content
-
Check If you have reached the intent of search properly or not.
Add Graphics
Last but not least Add Images, Videos, Infographics, tables, charts, facts, or steps to make your content more understandable. Also, add the Call to Action text or button at the end of the post.
